J. Since 1670 J. Herbin has maintained a tradition of making high quality inks and sealing waxes. J. Herbin was a sailor, and from his many journeys to India he brought back to Paris formulas for manufacturing sealing wax. His special lacquer formula improved the quality of the seals in adhesion and neatness, helping him to become famous throughout the kingdom.
He began making pen inks in his Paris workshop beginning in 1700 with the "Ink of Ships" and the "Jewel of Inks." Today, Herbin's inks are widely used and internationally renowned
