The story of Pure Pens began in 2004 with father and son Ray and Ross Adams. With Ross' parents having bought him a high-end fountain pen to mark the completion of his GCSEs, Ray and Ross soon happened upon the renowned Pelikan M150. Yet the pair struggled to locate an online retailer of the German brand, so set about becoming the UK's first, trading as Niche Pens.
Within months, Niche Pens had become a well-established brand in the UK fountain pen market and soon began widening their range of products to include the likes of Noodler's Ink. By 2011, the offering had diversified further, and it was felt the best way to showcase such a range of stationery was to launch Pure Pens, which has today become one of the UK's leading online pen shops.
The Pure Pens Ink range was first launched in February 2018. The idea behind the ink was to provide a high-quality series to customers, which was affordable, and also told a bit about the company in the process. With Pure Pens a proud Welsh company, developing Celtic-themed inks seemed entirely befitting. Many of the inks tend to sit in between other ink producers' main colours, giving fountain pens another unique palette to add to their collection.
