S.T. Dupont Liberté Ball Pen - Black & Rose Gold
The Liberté range of pens from ST Dupont is it's collection designed specifically for women.
The sleek tapered barrel is elegant and the top section has a quite unique quilted style design, which is machined out of brass and then PVD coated in Rose Gold.
The end cone is plated to match along with the sprung pocket clip and finial which has the style of a cut gemstone featuring the 'D' logo in the centre.
Each part of the manufacturing process is considered and requires both time and expertise. The logo finial, for example, is machined away to leave a 3 dimensional D which is then bathed in Chinese lacquer (to match the barrel) and the final step sees it shaped and polished to give a flush but domed surface.
The Chinese lacquer of the barrel is applied by hand, smoothed and polished to give a lustrous shine and a very hard wearing surface, resistant to minor scratches like those liable to be picked up from daily use.
Finally, it comes in a suitably luxurious gift box, with simple black finish outside and velvet-like interior lining.
